Now Hiring: Marin on Ice is Looking for Seasonal Employees

Marin on Ice, Marin's only holiday skating rink, opens to the public in November, and the organization is looking for people to be a part of the guest service team. All the jobs are part-time seasonal positions that would require work on weekends, evenings and holidays. The ice rink will be open to the public from Nov. 10, 2012 to Jan. 13, 2013.

The following positions include:

  • Cashiers
  • Skate guards
  • Managers

Interviews will be held in San Rafael at Northgate Mall’s Oak Tree Plaza on Oct. 22 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Oct. 23 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Email cathy@marinonice.com to schedule an interview.

Accounting Manager

This individual is responsible for the design, improvement, implementation and upkeep of the district’s accounting system, assures that all accounting procedures are performed in an effective and accurate manner in accordance with the laws of the state, the California Schools Accounting Manual, the Governmental Accounting Standards Board and the requirements of the Marin County Office of Education and the California Department of Education.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration or public administration from an accredited college or equivalent university coursework, as well as five years experience in accounting, two or more of which are in school finance and overall district operations.

The Green MBA program at Dominican University of California is seeking adjunct professors in several areas including ecological economics and strategic enterprise planning to begin teaching in summer 2012.

Adjunct Professors

According to the job posting, ecological economics explores how people can effect change using a "triple-bottom-line" approach–sustainable scale, just distribution and efficient allocation. In strategic enterprise planning, students develop either entrepreneurial business plans or strategic plans for major new initiatives for existing businesses, integrating learning from the entire Green MBA program curriculum.

The ideal candidates will have an advanced degree from accredited institution in the filed of management, marketing, public policy, economics, law or finance and a deep understanding of the relationship between course subject, real world application and sustainability.
