Presidio Bank Expands in San Rafael, Pacifics Tryouts Scheduled for Jan. 26

Presidio Bank Expands into New Ground Floor Space

Presidio Bank announced as a result of continued growth, it is expanding its San Rafael office by relocating to a premier ground floor space.


“This is the achievement of another significant milestone,” Presidio Bank North Bay President Todd Allen said. “Expanding our regional office is a sign of our success and further establishing ourselves within our community. We have a team of very experienced bankers averaging over two decades in the industry.”

Presidio Bank, established in 2006, has shown steady growth and now reports assets of over $415 million. The bank continues to win new relationships despite an increasingly competitive environment. The new and larger space is designed to support further growth and will allow Presidio Bank to better serve clients. Pacifics To Hold Open Tryout at College of Marin in January

The North American League Champions San Rafael Pacifics will hold an open tryout camp at College of Marin for their upcoming 2013 season on Saturday, Jan. 26. The Pacifics will be looking to fill numerous roster spots at all positions.

Pacifics Manager Mike Marshall and pitching coach Tyler Pearson will conduct the tryout, and scouts from the Baltimore Orioles and Arizona Diamondbacks have confirmed their attendance.

The tryout will begin at 8 a.m. at the College of Marin at 835 College Ave., in Kentfield. Players should expect to show off their defensive and offensive skills, as well as participate in a live game where pitchers will have the opportunity to throw one inning. Player signing and spring training invite announcements will be made immediately following the conclusion of the tryout.

The tryout is open to the first 80 players to sign up and open to all players that have exhausted amateur eligibility and have previous pro or college experience. Pre-registration cost is $100 and day-of registration is $150. To register, contact the Pacifics front office at 415-485-1563.

Excellence in Education Winner is Dixie Elementary School Teacher

The San Rafael Chamber of Commerce Education Committee recently selected educator Jennifer Thomas as one of the recipients of their Excellence in Education Awards for 2012-2103. Thomas is a teacher at the Dixie Elementary School with over 10 years experience.

"She is a leader in so many ways and a role model for all of us," Dixie Elementary Principal Greg Johnson said. "Jen does whatever it takes to help students succeed academically and socially with intelligence, grace and common sense."

Lotus of India Lunch Delivery Now Available

Office managers who don’t have time to pick up the catered lunch for the conference can try a new offering from Lotus of India. The Marin County favorite announces it’s take-out lunch special for catering and for large parties. This special to-go lunch offer is good for parties of 40 or more people.

Busy groups will enjoy the following menu items: Veggie Pakora appetizer, Chicken Tikka Masala, two vegetable options - dhal (mixed lentils) and Saag Paneer (cheese cubes with spinach), Indian basmati rice (GMO-free) and plain naan bread.  It’s $10 per person and delivery is free in Marin County. I can't say that I look forward to going there (sick pets are always difficult), but I am sure glad they are here for us when we need them!
