Johnny Doughnuts co-owner and San Rafael resident Craig Blum said they are still getting their ducks (or perhaps we should we say doughnuts?) in a row before opening the doors to their San Rafael shop.

He said they’ve been busy doing private events in the Bay Area, including serving doughnuts out of their truck for tech companies Apple, Salesforce and AirBnB. “It’s allowed us to get our systems moving and operating before opening to the public,” said Blum, who owns the company along with San Francisco resident Jeremy Moran.

While an exact opening date for the shop, located at 1617 Fourth Street, isn’t set in stone, Blum said they expect to be opening “soon.”

You can keep tabs on their Facebook page, where they’ve posted photos of a long line at their food truck at Apple and mouth-watering photo of a “smoked chocolate bourbon sea salt” doughnut batch, for updates about their openings and truck whereabouts.

We’ll try to keep you posted about the opening, too. (Make sure you’re subscribed to our daily newsletter.)
