Here's What's Good at the Farmers Market This Week

The Marin County Farmers Market at the Civic Center in San Rafael is loaded with berries of all kinds.

The Agricultural Institute of Marin presents the Marin County Farmers Market Thursday and Sunday at the Marin County Civic Center in San Rafael.

Each week, San Rafael Patch likes to check out the market and see what is special. This is the peak of the summer fruit and vegetable season and berries are in abundance.

AIM operates nine markets in the Bay Area. The Thursday and Sunday markets are the grand-daddies of them all.

This week strawberries, blueberries, blackberries and even golden raspberries are in abundance, sweet and bursting with flavor.

But the Marin County Farmers Market is about more than fresh produce. The organization was established to support regional sustainable producers by giving them a place to have direct access to consumers.
