15 Facebook Pages in Marin Worth “Liking”

New In Marin or new to Facebook? Here are just a few of our favorite Marin Facebook Pages. We know there are plenty more out there that are worth sharing.

We’re on Facebook. A lot. That’s what we do as social media marketers. We press our ear against the computer screen, listening for little beeps and bumps on the social media landscape; as well as for what’s going on in our neighborhoods and beyond.

We wish we had room to list ALL our favorites, but we don’t, so here’s a taste, a few of our favorite Facebook Pages in Marin.

Without further ado and in no particular order:

Mill Valley Public Library:  Everyone has their favorite library, this is ours. This Page is chock-full of information.  From computer classes, book clubs and lectures to teens’ and kids’ events, this is a wonderful resource.

San Rafael Public Library: This Page is really active and highlights everything from classes on “Affordable Senior Housing Options in Marin” to test drives on ebook Readers. Thinking of learning a foreign language or need a book recommendation?  There’s always something interesting here.

Marin Magazine: Glossy Facebook Page highlights local businesses and events going on in the North Bay.

Keep Marin Marin: This Page highlights all things Marin, whether it’s mountain biking, Tupac Shakur or bird watchers, this page is as eclectic as Marin.

Whole Foods Market : This one’s in Mill Valley but every Whole Foods Market has their own Facebook Page and offer everything from recipe ideas to store specials. They also support local foundations, hold contests and keep you in the loop. Sweet.

Patch.com: There’s a Patch.com for your neighborhood. Again, this one is from Mill Valley but there's a Patch for most of Marin. Not only do you get the community news and a sometimes extremely funny blotter but also hyperlocal headlines and a listing of community events in your town and beyond.

Marin Independent Journal: From local news and Marin County issues to “Daily Deals," event listings, and obituaries, it’s here.

MarinScope Community Newspapers: Yup, more news.  This time its six weekly newspapers: Novato Advance, San Rafael Newspointer, Ross Valley Reporter, Twin Cities Times, Mill Valley Herald, Sausalito Marin Scope all wrapped up on one single Facebook Page.

Point Reyes Books:  A fun page from a wonderful bookstore. Their Page draws attention to West Marin’s community events, readings, their Geography of Hope Conference as well as sharing some funny and interesting links.

Book Passage Bookstore: Their Page lists their fun events at the bookstore in Corte Madera and with a wealth of bestselling authors as well as local historians, writers, classes and more, it’s worth checking out.

Sally Around the Bay: Want to know what’s happening in the San Francisco Bay Area? Sally’s Page is a little this, a little that. She calls attention to this beautiful place we call home with her photos, and as she describes it, her “raves, rambles, recipes and rants!”

Marin County Parks: What fantastic photos of Marin’s changing landscapes. Truly lovely!

Point Reyes National Seashore: Killer photos of Point Reyes, sea-lion pups, eco news, and more.

Marin Mommies: Marin Mommies is Marin and the North Bay’s go-to guide for moms, dads, and families. They’ve got it all going on and most of their links bring you back to their delicious blog that focuses on everything from play date projects and healthy recipes to tips on getting your little one to sleep.

Do you use Facebook to connect with your community?  It’s a great way to keep up on local events, classes, bookstore readings, restaurant specials, and more.

Do you have a favorite Facebook Page in Marin that we’re missing out on?  We’d love to know.

We just liked Bike/Hike/Tour Marin on Facebook. With so many wonderful places to walk in Mill Valley, this sounds like a great way to get some exercise. Especially like the description..."scenic hustle-hiking."
