The Weekender: West End Culture Crawl, Book Sales and More

The West End will be holding its first "Culture Crawl" this Friday night. Several Fourth Street businesses between E and H streets will feature live music, special food and discounts.

Join new business MoveMe Studio for Movie Night.  They are showing the film Breath Made Visible, a 2009 documentary film about modern dance legend Anna Halprin. It is produced and directed by filmmaker Ruedi Gerber.

Where: , 1100 E St.

Cost: Free

This popular book sale under the oak tree on the lawn, returns with thousands of donated books in good condition to benefit children's summer reading programs and other library events and purchases. All books organized into categories, and there will be a special children's section as well as music CDs, audio books, movies and sheet music.

Dave Mathews, former member of Tower of Power, longtime organist with Etta James & currently Santana's Keyboardist and Santana's Front Man and Multi-Grammy Winning Singer Tony Lindsay, bring a star studded tribute to Ray Charles to George’s Nightclub. Starring Tony Lindsay, Glenn Walters, former lead-singer with "The Hoodoo Rhythm Devils" and "The Zasu Pitts Memorial Orchestra” and Dewayne Pate and Deszon X. Claiborne. This show will be one to remember.

Canal Alliance is celebrating three decades of service to the low-income immigrant community of Marin County. The festivities will begin with a
30th Anniversary Community Celebration, outside of Canal Alliance’s offices on Sunday, June 24. Parts of Alto and Belvedere streets will be closed off to welcome community members, performers, local food and craft vendors, partners and supporters.

I can't say that I look forward to going there (sick pets are always difficult), but I am sure glad they are here for us when we need them!
