This class starts Oct. 6 and runs for three weeks. In the Business of Fashion, you will have an opportunity to share your fashion idea in a safe and supportive environment, learn about the ‘skills sets’ that are specific to the fashion industry, identify what skills you have, what skills are transferrable and what skills you need, walk through the product development process from concept to completion and get constructive feedback from peers and professionals. Dia de los Muertos Workshops Alter Construction and Ornaments

Where: Albert J. Boro Community Center, 50 Canal St.

The Canal Youth and Family Council, Canal Welcome Center and the city of San Rafael Community Services Department have all partnered to offer four different Dia de los Muertos Workshops focusing on Altar Construction and Ornaments. Saturdays, October 6, 13, 20 and 27, 10:30 am – 12:30 pm at the Albert J. Boro Community Center. Space is limited.
Word Up! Fair
When: Sunday, Oct. 7
Where: Marin Center, 10 Avenue of the Flags
Time: 11 a.m.
Cost: Free
This year’s fair will bring in an estimated 3,000 participants to celebrate the joy of lifelong learning. The goal is to increase awareness of learning opportunities in the North Bay which will lead to an increase in literacy levels and the knowledge base of our population and to raise funds that support literacy programs in North Bay county libraries, schools and community organizations.
