The Shook Twins, originally from Sandpoint Idaho, romp onto the Studio 55 Marin stage. Expect the unexpected with identical twins, Laurie Shook (vocals, banjo, percussion and beat-boxing), Katelyn Shook (vocals, guitar and mandolin) and the  “third twin," Kyle Volkman on bass.

The Shook Twins intertwine gorgeous “twin” harmonies with an eclectic and eccentric blend of folk, roots, pop and fun. But don’t be fooled. They are not your average folk trio. Laurie may drop a beatbox in the middle of a song, while Katelyn plays the guitar, glockenspiel, mandolin and sings into a telephone and bocks like a chicken. Meanwhile Kyle lays down the groove adding resonant bass lines to the mix.

Opening for the Shook Twins is the "Americali" duo Melody Walker & Jacob Groopman whose fusion of literacy and musicianship blend together an eclectic harmony of voice and instruments.

Come listen to the timeless and immortal musical sounds of It's A Beautiful Day. These gifted musicians fronted by the superb talent of violin soloist David LaFlamme play a unique contemporary blend of rock, classical and bluegrass music that mixes psychedelic and early progressive styles.

Multiple albums were laced with classic cuts such as "Hot Summer Day", "Bombay Calling," "Girl With No Eyes", "Wasted Union Blues," "Time Is" and many more you'll remember. Today the band performs the music of It's A Beautiful Day along with newer material, moving effortlessly from an almost folksy sound to ethereal jazz to psychedelic to straight on rock 'n roll performing selections from three new CDs and over seven of their previous albums.
