SSU Chorus Holding Auditions For North Bay Singers

Looking for North Bay singers to perform at Green Music Center's grand opening on September 30.

Calling all North Bay singers.

Here’s your chance to share your talents with the community and sing at the Green Music Center at Sonoma State University during the music hall’s official opening celebration on September 30.

The center features a 1,400-seat theater and is billed as a “world class performance venue” that will attract tourists and musicians to Sonoma County. It's modeled on Tanglewood, the Boston Symphony Orchestra’s summer home in the Berkshire Hills of Massachusetts.

Green Music Center broke ground in 1997 and has cost more than $120 million, half of which came from donations from wealthy donors such as Sandy and Joan Weill, the former a Citigroup executive, and Telecom Valley pioneer Don Green.

It has already booked performers such as Alison Krauss and piano virtuoso Lang Lang and has been presented as a major driver of tourism dollars and jobs to Rohnert Park and the surrounding area.
