At the beginning of last year, movie stars were spotted filming near in North San Rafael. If you want to see the church and the stars on your television, tune in to HBO at 9 p.m. on Monday.
The movie, Hemingway and Gellhorn, tells the highs and lows of the romance between literary icon Ernest Hemingway and war correspondent Martha Gellhorn during the Spanish Civil War. Nicole Kidman and Clive Owen star as the lovers.
San Rafael is one of many locations around the Bay Area the crew filmed to represent Key West, Spain, China, Cuba and New York.
Other than Kidman and Owen, the cast and crew features some high-profile talent, including Oscar-nominated director Philip Kaufman and producer James Gandolfini. Robert Duvall also makes an appearance as a Russian general.
