ART OF THE AMERICAS

Where/When: Marin Civic Center, 10 Avenue of the Flags, San Rafael, Saturday 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Why Go: Because this showcase of indigenous  American art is unrivaled. Collectors, dealers, artists and lecturers all under one roof (actually two). The exhibition includes both antiques and contemporary art.  Don’t miss it.

Pricing: $15 admission.

 

SEAGULL

Where/When: Marin Theatre Company, 397 Miller Avenue, Mill Valley, Friday 8 p.m., Saturday 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., Sunday 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Why Go: Because this fantastic production is going, going, gone.  Already extended,  this is your last opportunity to see this sexy classic.  Get there before the curtain goes down.

A NIGHT IN HAVANA

Where/When: Bernard Osher Marin Jewish Community Center, 200 N. San Pedro Rd., San Rafael, Saturday 5:30 p.m. - 11 p.m.

Why Go: Because you can’t help but grin from ear to ear when you’re dancing to the beats of Ricardo Lemvo and Makina Loca’s Afro-Cuban soukous music. Ready to learn some new dance moves? C’mon, you know you want to.

Pricing: $45 per person, concert only. $100 per person/$150 per couple includes cocktails, international cuisine and concert, $125 V.I.P. tickets includes reserved parking, reserved seating, V.I.P. bar and international cuisine.

 

ACADEMY AWARDS AT THE LARK

Where/When: Lark Theater, 549 Magnolia Ave., Larkspur, Sunday, 4 p.m. - 9 p.m.

Why Go: Because your ruby red slippers have been waiting to make an entrance on their own red carpet. No? Okay, pick out a favorite character from the movie world and make your own spectacular entrance.There’s a gourmet dinner, fabulous wines, ballots, trivia games and, of course, prizes for best costume. And that big screen?  Let the acceptance speeches begin.
