FAMILY BEST BETS OF THE WEEK


NEW FATHER CLASS

Where/When: Marin General Hospital (Magnolia Room),  250 Bon Air Rd., Greenbrae, Thursday 7 - 9 p.m.

Why Go: Okay, this isn’t exactly one for the kids but if you’re a new dad or know a dad-to-be, this class is for you. You’ll be able to compare notes with other new dads, learn the intricacies of diaper changing and more.

HEALTH IS WEALTH FESTIVAL 

Where/When: Ross Valley Cross Fit, 34 Greenfield Ave., San Anselmo, Saturday 11-3 p.m.

Why Go:  Because we all want to have a healthy family, right?  Tap into the secrets of longevity while the kids sing along with Tim Cain and Miss Kitty. Eat some tasty food.  Aren't you feeling better already?

Pricing:  Free!  

 

TALL TALES

Where/When: Marin Theatre Company, 397 Miller Avenue, Mill Valley, Saturday & Sunday (next weekend too), 1-2 p.m.

Why Go: Because the kids will love this show. What's better than bigger-than-life characters, giant blue oxen and American myth? It all adds up to a fun afternoon. 

Pricing:$15 adult/senior, $10 child (for ages 5-11)

   

WIND IN THE WILLOWS

Where/When: San Anselmo Playhouse, 27 Kensington Rd., San Anselmo, Friday, 7 p.m.

Why Go: These third, fourth and fifth graders from Wade Thomas Elementary are ready to delight you and the kids with their version of this classic play. Give my regards to Mr. Toad.

Pricing: Ticket prices are $10 for adults at all shows and $7 for students at matinees.

 

PURIM PALOOZA

Where/When: Osher Marin Jewish Community Center, 200 N. San Pedro Rd., San Rafael, Sunday, 11:30-2:30 p.m.

Why Go: Because everybody is invited to this free carnival celebrating Purim. There’s a bounce house, arts and crafts, face painting, great food and more. Have the kiddos come in costume and join the parade.

Pricing: Free. One tradition of Purim is to give to those in need so bring a donation of at least one package of food.
