Photo Gallery: Day of the Dead in San Rafael

Pictures from this year's event at Pickleweed Park Community Center

This year marked the 23rd anniversary of San Rafael's Dia de los Muertos celebration. Held at Pickleweed Park Community Center on Saturday Nov. 5, the event featured performances from the Mixcoatl Aztec Dancers, the Chan Kahal Mayan Dance Group, and Ballet Folklorico Netzahualcoyotl. Visitors to the event were also able to participate in arts & crafts, pay their respects at one of the many beautiful altars, get their face-painted and partake in traditional storytelling. Check out the gallery above to see some photographs of the festivities!

You can find out more about the event at the official website, http://www.dayofthedeadsr.info/.

It would be nice if the comments section had "Thumbs up / Thumbs down" like the PressRead More Democrat.

We have been to Pet Emergency a few times with various animals over the years, and they areRead More absolutely FANTASTIC! Top quality medical care, and a very caring and compassionate staff. I can't say that I look forward to going there (sick pets are always difficult), but I am sure glad they are here for us when we need them!
