The Stapleton Ballet Nutcracker

WHO:        The Stapleton Ballet

WHAT:      The Stapleton Ballet presents their original version of Tchaikovsky's holiday classic  Nutcracker. Now in its 22nd year, the Stapleton Ballet production vividly brings to life this timeless tale, as Clara's Nutcracker is transformed into a prince to battle the evil Mouse Queen. This year the Stapleton Ballet unveils an exciting new Battle Scene, featuring new sets, choreography and costumes. The new Christmas tree will magically "grow" to nearly 50 feet tall, releasing a riotous explosion of color, as Clara enters her dream world. Imaginations will soar as Clara travels to a dazzling snowy wonderland and then to the Land of the Sugar Plum Fairy, where highlights include an exotic Chinese Lion dance; a mysterious and magical Arabian divertissement, and the always-popular and energetic Russian variation. This production will dazzle audiences of all ages with inspired dancing, stunning imagery, and beautifully crafted sets and  costumes. Performers in costume greet audience members in the lobby after the matinees on both days. Performances take place on December 4 and 5 at 1:00 and 5:00 p.m. at the Marin Veterans Memorial Auditorium. This stunning production offers a magical, memorable way to begin the holiday season!
