THE RIGHT TO LOVE: AN AMERICAN FAMILY

REGISTER/PURCHASE TICKETS AT THIS EVENT SITE: http://events.r20.constantcontact.com/register/event?oeidk=a07e5kuzsgh17d6748c&llr=o8rxmsbab

The Right to Love: An American Family chronicles one story of courage born out of the highly mediatized and controversial Prop 8 2008 election results in California. A Californian married gay couple and their two adopted children, who live in Santa Rosa, CA, fight back against discrimination, ignorance and hate through home videos posted on their YouTube channel, Gay Family Values. As they pursue their American Dream, the opposing political, social and religious opinions that pervade society attempt to strip it from them.

With us will be the film's featured family, the Leffews, and Cassie Jaye, the filmmaker who lives in Larkspur, CA. A Q&A will follow the film, along with an update on what's next for Prop 8. Come celebrate the Ninth Circuit's decision that Proposition 8 is unconstitutional!

Marriage Equality Media Director, Stuart Gaffney, and Legal Director, John Lewis, will be on hand to field your questions about what's next for Prop 8 and how we can all continue to work toward marriage equality.

STOP BY SABOR OF SPAIN, 1301 Fourth Street (just down the street from the Smith Rafael Theater) between 5:00 and 6:30 PM before the screening and mingle with friends of Spectrum.

This event is presented by Spectrum LGBT Center's Seen Through Film Series, with support from Marin Community Foundation and PG&E. Presented in association with Jaye Bird Productions.

Promotional partners: Marriage Equality USA and National Center for Lesbian Rights
