Enjoy an evening of adrenaline-pumping, head-turning live jazz fusion with three-time Grammy-nominated musician and local Marinite Matt Eakle. Matt is the flutest for the David Grisman Quintet  and he stretches out  here with the Matt Eakle Band. Eakle’s jaw-dropping, spellbinding jams on the flute are extraordinary and his inspired playing will be accompanied by Alex Baum on bass, Jack Dorsey on drums and Joey Edelman on keyboard. The Matt Eakle Band blends the classic sounds of rock, blues, soul, and jazz, with the musical traditions of Africa, India and South America. An all-community event, this special night of jazz promises to entertain, mesmerize and delight.

WHO: All are invited. Beer, wine and cocktails available for 21+ at a no-host bar.

About The Matt Eakle Band  Matt Eakle and his flute have been blowing crowds out of their chairs and onto their feet since 1989 as the first wind player to share the front line with David Grisman in the David Grisman Quintet. He’s featured on 14 Acoustic Disc CDs with the DGQ, Jerry Garcia, Enrique Coria, and as the leader of his own jazz trio on the CD, Flute Jazz. On these and hundreds of other recordings, Matt takes people’s preconceived notions of what a flute can do and blows them inside out.
