Take-back day for pharmaceuticals, e-waste and paper shredding

Marin County Sheriff’s Office, Marin Sanitary Service, Marin Computer Resource Center, Supervisor Susan Adams and Las Gallinas Valley Sanitary District are sponsoring a take-back event on April 30 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Marin Center Veterans Memorial Auditorium parking lot.  The aim of this program is to keep un-used or expired pharmaceutical products as well as electronic products out of the waste stream and environment.

All prescription medications, vitamins and medicated creams and over the counter medications are welcome, as well as pet medications.  Items not accepted are IV bags, infectious waste, personal care products, empty pill containers, hydrogen peroxide, aerosol cans and full inhalers.  Marin County Sheriff’s Office is sponsoring this station as part of the federal Drug Enforcement Administration National Take-back Day.

This is a safe disposal opportunity for your electronic equipment headed for the landfill—computers, televisions, stereo systems, hand-held devices, speakers, microwave or toaster ovens, etc.  Marin Sanitary Service will be providing paper shredding on site as well.  Las Gallinas Valley Sanitary District invites you to bring in your mercury thermometers for safe disposal.  NOTE: We cannot accept any appliances with Freon or mercury.
