Screening of "Crimebuster: A Son's Search for His Father"

Director Lou Dematteis will appear in person for the Q & A after the screening of "Crimebuster: A Son's Search for His Father" at the Smith Rafael Film Center. 
Bay Area filmmaker and photojournalist Lou Dematteis will present and discuss his documentary "Crimebuster", about his celebrated father and their rocky personal relationship in the context of the Italian American experience in Northern California. District Attorney and Judge Louis B. Dematteis was a pillar of the Italian American community, who had fought organized crime in San Mateo County in the 1940s and '50s, and gave Sandra Day O'Connor (interviewed in the film) her first job as a lawyer at a time when no one was hiring women. The film moves from Italy and Ellis Island to California and the Bay Area with its story of immigrants, family, justice and healing. Camera: Vicente Franco.
