This holiday season we invite you to share the gifts of magic, imagination, adventure and old-fashioned fun with family and friends by gathering together and enjoying our full-length production of Nutcracker. Join Clara as she and her family celebrate Christmas Eve in lavish Victorian fashion. Follow the mystical Herr Drosslemayer as he leads Clara and her brave Nutcracker Prince into a holiday dream filled with delightful surprises and endearing characters. Meet the brazenly sassy Mouse King, the beautifully powerful Snow Queen, the colorful citizens of The Land of the Sweets, and, of course, the enchanting Sugar Plum Fairy.
In 2009, Artistic Director Cynthia Lucas with choreographer Julia Adam, and the 185- member cast, debuted a new version of this famous story rich in the artistry and grandeur of classical ballet. This year, look for more new costumes and sets! Marin Ballet's Nutcracker is a beloved tradition among generations of Marin residents and a wonderful way to introduce children (and their parents!) to the extraordinary and inspiring world of dance.
