Friday: Earth Day & National Poetry Month Event

Recognizing Earth Day & National Poetry Month, this special Marin Arts Gallery (906 4th St) event features Judith Selby Lang and Richard Lang of West Marin. They’ve collected plastic litter off of Kehoe Beach for past 10 years and use the various objects to create prints, jewelry and installations which invoke a deeper concern with the problem of plastic pollution.  Award-winning poet Becky Foust and artist Lorna Stevens' new book "God Seed" features environmental poetry and art concerning issues of our planet's survival. Saturday: Art Film - Poetry

Poetry tells the story of a suburban woman in her 60s who begins an interest in poetry while struggling with Alzheimer’s disease and her irresponsible grandson. The film was selected for the main competition at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival. The film is in Korean with English subtitles Michael Phillips of the Chicago Tribune said it was "one of the heartening glories of the film going year." Sunday: Spring Concert Featuring San Domenico Virtuosi

San Domenico Virtuoso Program students will present a spring concert at the Santa Sabina Chapel, including selections from F. J. Haydn, Louise Heritte-Viardot, Therese Blangini and Felix Mendelssohn with solosts by seniors Nina Pak (violin) and Allie Simpson (viola). Concert begins at 3 p.m.with a reception immediately following. Suggested donation is $20, at the door. Santa Sabina is located at 25 Magnolia Avenue in San Rafael.
