However, plans changed after Weir fell onstage during a recent performance in Port Chester, New York. Lesh, Weir’s longtime Grateful Dead collaborator, told the crowd Weir had sprained his shoulder earlier in the day and that the band would finish without him.

Furthur and Weir's San Rafael-based TRI Studios posted a note on their Facebook pages Tuesday annoucing the cancellation of Furthur's Napa performance "due to unforseen circumstances." The post said Weir is planning on resuming his regular “Weir Here” broadcasts from TRI Studios in mid to late June and performing his solo acoustic shows at the end of June.

Furthur is planning on returning to the road on July in Brooklyn for their summer tour, which continues through early October as it makes it way to the West Coast, according to the post.

The new BottleRock Napa Valley features a lineup of more than 80 artists, bands and performers from a variety of genres, including rock, soul/R&B, country, hip-hop, comedy and more, from May 9 – 12, at the Napa Valley Expo in downtown Napa. Preformers include The Avett Brothers, The Black Crowes, Primus, Violent Femmes, ALO, Café Tacuba, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Richard Thompson Electric Trio, X, Moonalice, The Refusers, Ray Bertalino and the Forget Me Nots, Delta Spirit, and Cosmos Percussion Orchestra. The comedy lineup for Thursday features Tig Notaro, Bill Burr, and Anthony Jeselnik.

A limited number of 3-day passes have been released at $329, single day passes begin at $139, 4-day passes at $399, and 4-day VIP passes at $599. Passes are on sale now at the BottleRock website.

Weir made national headlines in March after he angrily walked off the stage during a solo acoustic set at Mill Valley’s Sweetwater Music Hall. He had grown increasingly irritated with crowd chatter during the set.
