What Recipes Do You Want to See?

Patch needs your help!

Attention Patch Readers,

Thank you for the wonderful response to our series. I am writing to ask for your help.

Until now, we have featured only restaurant chefs, but we know there are many talented women and men in San Rafael who have great skills with pots, pans and kitchen utensils.

Since the Bay Area is known for such great food, we want to find the recipe for that special dish you had on your anniversary, the sweet and tangy barbecue sauce from a friend’s backyard grill party or the most decadent gooey dessert you’ve ever tasted made by a San Rafael chef or home cook. So tell us a story about why you want us to procure that particular recipe.

Maybe you’ve always wanted to know how to shuck an oyster, or how much in advance you can make a soufflé base or how to deep fry a turkey. Ask us and we will find the right expert to explain in a video.

Remember, your stories don't have to be limited to restaurants. Besides those who are trained chefs, we are also looking for the home baker who makes the best cherry pie you’ve ever eaten, the local manufacturer of your favorite artisan food product or the best catered food you’ve ever tasted.

Using your request letter, we will seek out that restaurant, chef, manufacturer, caterer or  home cook and hopefully find that they are willing to share the recipe, along with step-by-step instructions, with you and our other Patch readers.

Since this is San Rafael Patch, the person or restaurant needs to be in the San Rafael area. Nominate that chef in the comment box below. If you are suggesting a person we might not be able to find ourselves, as we would a restaurant, please give us your contact information so we will be able to follow up. And of course, you are more than welcome to nominate yourself as the best chef on the block! So tell us about your most requested recipe.

We are excited to hear about your culinary experiences. Thanks so much in advance. In anticipation of your suggestions, our mouths at Patch are watering.

Cordially,

Robin Collins
