San Rafael Applebee's Among Several Bay Area Business Offering Deals to Vets Today

The chain restaurant is offering free meals to veterans and active duty military personnel today in honor of Veterans Day.

A San Rafael Applebee's restaurant is among several Bay Area businesses offering special deals in honor of Veterans Day.

Applebee's is offering free meals to veterans and active duty military personnel today.

“Every Veterans Day, Applebee's invites vets and active duty military to come have a meal on us,” the company's website says. “It's our way of saying thanks for their service."

San Rafael's Applebee's is located at the Northgate Mall.

Other chain restaurants offering deals to veterans today include Krispy Kreme, Hooters, Olive Garden, TGI Friday's, On the Border Mexican Grill and Cantina, Chili's, Starbucks, Applebee's, Texas Roadhouse, McCormick and Schmick's Seafood and Steaks and others are offering free food, drinks and other items to those with military identification today.

Many other businesses are offering special deals as a "thank you" to those who serve.

Free haircuts are being offered at Sport Clips for cardholding active-duty personnel and veterans.

There are barbershop locations in San Ramon, Petaluma, Concord, Morgan Hill, Pleasant Hill and Dublin.

In Richmond, Chevron is hosting an event at the SS Red Oak Victory ship at 10 a.m.

A memorial flower toss and tours of the ship, along with musical entertainment are part of the celebration.

The SS Red Oak Victory is docked at Berth 6A at 1333 Canal Blvd.
