Road Near Lake Lagunitas Temporarily Closing for Repairs

The Marin Municipal Water District will be working on a section of Lakeview Road on the Mt. Tamalpais Watershed from Monday, April 28 through Friday, May 2 to improve road drainage and reduce erosion.

These improvements will help protect water quality by reducing siltation of creeks and reservoirs. 

Lakeview Road is an unpaved road accessible to hikers, bicyclists, and equestrians and is located above Lake Lagunitas. The section to be closed is between Lake Lagunitas Road and the east end of Pilot Knob Trail.

Sections where the work is occurring will be closed to all visitors weekdays, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., for the safety of both visitors and work crews. Every effort will be made to keep the road fully passable after work hours and on weekends. Signs will be posted near the trail closure area. Pilot Knob Trail, Eldridge Grade, and Filter Plant Road can be used as alternate routes.
