Caption Contest: Marinites Show Off Their Pillow Talk

Do you have a photo that we could use for a playful caption contest?

Ever wondered how creative your neighbors can be?

We put them to the test with a caption contest.

I recently posted this photo I took of a lone (and super random) pillow in the middle of a downtown San Rafael crosswalk to our TwitterInstagram and Facebook accounts and asked our wonderful followers to come up with captions for the photo.

The responses cracked me up. Some were too good to not share. So here’s some of my favorites:

“My owners took the term ‘throw pillow’ a little too seriously.” By Scott Metzger.

“Pedestrian rest area, Marin style.” By Xochitl Selena Marinez.

"After an intimate dinner downtown, Hank and Gladace shared a little pillow walk.” By Linda Klein Fine Artist.

“Some was asleep at the wheel.” By James Vazquez.

“I knew this was a sleepy town.” By Ewa Jansson.

“Well, if you're going to sleepwalk, you might as well do it when you have the "Walk" sign in your favor!” By John Leydecker.

“Finally better roads.” By Nate Banks.

“Wanna take me home to bed?” By Pat Field Ravasio.

We’re assuming Michele Larreur Steinman pulling inspiration from San Anselmo’s new downtown statues when she wrote “ ‘Rest I need’ – Yoda.”

The Beatles proved to be the unofficial winner of the playful and unofficial contest, as two different song lyrics were used:

“It’s been a hard day’s night,” wrote Ruben J. Rocha on the San Anselmo – Fairfax Patch Facebook page, while Janna Barkin wrote “Why don’t we do it in the road,” on the San Rafael Patch Facebook Patch.

Which was your favorite? Do you have a better caption? Let’s hear it in the comments!
