Our Students Won’t be Left Behind

The Bay Area Chapter of AVID (Advancement via Individual Development) is holding a workshop on effective note-taking and Tuesday, Oct. 25 is the deadline to register. There is no fee to attend and AVID elective teachers are highly encouraged to attend. Click here for registration information.


Forecast the Future....Crystal Ball Not Included

Palm readers and pyschics need not attend this financial seminar discussing the economic future of Marin, but local business owners should seriously consider purchasing a ticket. The 8th Annual Forcasting the Future Conference is on Wednesday, Oct. 26 and will be hosted by not only the but many other Marin Chamber of Commerce organizations. Thursday, Oct. 27 kicks off Spirit Week for Dominican University of California and the first of many cool happenings on the picturesque campus include the community service fair and the community garden open house. Stop by and learn more about San Rafael’s wonderful higher learning institution.


For Those Who Have Gone Before Us

Did you know that domestic violence is the most frequent violent crime in Marin County? is hosting a celebration on Friday, Oct. 28, from 12p.m. to 2p.m. Community members are invited to participate as compassionate witnesses and those who knew or know someone who has been a victim are invited to bring photos and memories to share.

I can't say that I look forward to going there (sick pets are always difficult), but I am sure glad they are here for us when we need them!
