And San Rafael's Cutest Dog Is...

In a close contest that garnered over 150 votes and 35 photos of candidates, the crown for the in San Rafael goes to the 3-year-old Shih Tzu named Randall.

Although the Shih Tzu became a contender for the cuteness crown mid-contest, he soon gathered a huge following, garnering over 55 votes. "Randall has the sweetest, cutest face of all!" his owner Karen said as votes were being cast.

"I looked at all of the dogs, and Randall really caught my eye. I think he is just darling," one reader said in the comments.

Randall's main contenders were a light brown dachsund pug mix named Gulliver and a black pug named Ceasar.

"Gulliver is so sweet and adorable," his owner Matt Malin said during the contest, describing the pooch as "very protective of his two little boys. So glad we adopted him from the Humane Society, we lucked out!"

While all the pups entered were pretty darn cute, there can be only one winner. May Randall rule over his realm wisely.
