Novato Girl Scout Troop Brightens the Holidays for Homeward Bound of Marin

Novato Girl Scout Troop number 31067 wanted to help those less fortunate in their own community this holiday season.  They came up with the idea to create a “giving tree”.  Tim and Tami Mock, owners of Marin Coffee Roasters, agreed to host the tree at their Ignacio location.  The girls reached out to Ashley Kelley, the volunteer coordinator at Homeward Bound of Marin.  These 7th grade cadettes acquired a list of much needed items for Homeward Bound's Novato facility and set out to gather as many gifts as possible.  They made tags listing the needed items for the giving tree which twinkled for two weeks on the counter at Marin Coffee Roasters.  Patrons chose tags and brought their donated gifts back to café for the scouts to distribute to Homeward Bound.

Thanks to the efforts of the Girls Scouts, Tim and Tami Mock and the patrons of Marin Coffee Roasters, a giant truckload of much needed gifts was delivered to the New Beginnings Center in Novato this past Wednesday.  These donations will help make the holidays just a little bit brighter for the residents there.

Homeward Bound of Marin is the primary provider of shelter and services for homeless families and individuals in Marin County, California.  For more information, please see hbofm.org.

It would be nice if the comments section had "Thumbs up / Thumbs down" like the PressRead More Democrat.
