The Real Estate Fairy - Making Dreams Come True

The meaning of life through the eyes of the real estate fairy

Call me the real estate fairy. I just made another happy buyer’s dream come true, and it happened to be my brother Fred! He closed on an awesome little home in Fairfax just yesterday, which we spend the last seven months hunting down. In that time we looked at many dozens of homes, and only made an offer on one other property which we didn’t get. This one was worth the wait, and the real estate ferry blesses the home as being much better.

Sometimes it takes the real estate fairy more time to make the magic happen. In the case of my other brother Dave in Petaluma earlier this year I was able to help him acquire his dream home in a matter of weeks. In real estate fairy time that’s almost like a wave of the wand: a very strategic wave of the wand.

This year the real estate fairy has completed 13 transaction sides, to the tune of just over $8 million in sales which are pretty good numbers. The real estate fairy really can’t be slacking off either because he’s running out of brothers to sell houses to and his daughters are going to need braces in the next few years, plus there’s college tuition to think about, retirement (ugh!) and goodness knows what large unforeseen expenses are going to pop up as the real estate ferry grows old.

Speaking of which, the real estate ferry is working on his birthday, today. He doesn’t mind, and he gets to do a little writing too which makes sitting in front of a computer a lot more entertaining. Soon the real estate ferry will be hoping into his less than elegant Camry to have lunch with his wonderful mother and then he’ll be flying off to a signing in Novato. If the real estate ferry is going to be working on his birthday the least he can do is work towards his next paycheck.

These days the real estate ferry has a broken wing, or at least the equivalent of one. Well, maybe that’s an exaggeration, after all it’s only a broken toe that was twice infected, but it has kept him from flying the past few months. The hardest part of this broken toe business has been staying out of the water and not surfing during the best time of the year. It’s my birthday and I can’t surf. Boo hoo, hoo, the real estate ferry sobs on his birthday. That’s not a good look either.

At least the real estate ferry has been able to coach his lovely daughter in soccer this year. While the team has not exactly taken the league by storm, going 2-5-1 with one weekend of play remaining everyone has had fun and learned a lot about themselves and positive team play. Ferries like it when kids have a good time, regardless of outcomes. That’s the birthday wish this year from the real estate ferry. If your kids are playing sports, no matter how they or their team performs on the field he hopes they always enjoy playing.

Isn’t that what life’s all about anyway? It’s not the destination, it’s the journey that matters.
