Watch the Star-Studded Jerry Garcia Birthday Concert

An impressive lineup of performers, including Grateful Dead founders and Further members Bob Weir and Phil Lesh, gathered at Weir’s TRI Studios in San Rafael Aug. 3 to jam in celebration of what would have been Grateful Dead frontman Jerry Garcia’s 70th birthday.

The concert, titled “Move Me Brightly,” was broadcast for free live in HD video and has since been uploaded to YouTube.

Weir and the Jerry Garcia family joined forces for the special , one-time-only, event.

The performers included Phish bassist Mike Gordon, Jeff Chimienti, Tom Petty and Heartbreakers’ keyboardist Benmont Tench, Jonathan Wilson as well as indie-rockers Craig Finn and Tad Kubler of The Hold Steady and Chris Tomson of the popular Vampire Weekend.

From indie-folk to indie-rock, Garcia has left an imprint on the minds of many contemporary artists.

Mill Valley resident and Grateful Dead founding member Bob Weir . The state-of-the-art studio has the capacity to stream HD audio and video directly to the internet, creating a virtual venue where music fans can enjoy performances from just about anywhere. Every show at TRI is directed, filmed and mixed live in real-time, making each performance unique.

Weir was also one of the partners who helped in Mill Valley earlier this year.

Ross Valley resident Lesh and frequently performs both in the dining room and the live music housing “grate room.”
