Where to Dine for Valentine's Day

From lonely hearts to lovers to the whole family, here are some options for Feb. 14.

Valentine's Day is a big day for jewelers, florists and, of course, restaurants. A word of advice: Make your reservations now for that February 14 dinner.

What would you serve for dinner to seduce your partner? Lobster? Wine? Chocolate?

All those foods are supposed to be aphrodisiacs, and they'll all be featured prominantly on menus. According to experts, aphrodisiacs work on the mind and the body, increasing desires and blood flow.

Whipper Snapper in the West End will be serving their four-course aphrodisiac love menu with entrees like grilled seasonal fish with couscous salad and a red wine-pear sauce and desserts like passion fruit mousse.

If you're looking for wine, always a good aphrodisiac, try the Italian restaurants like Ginolina, Il Davide or Vin Antico.

Are you and your Valentine spending the evening out with the kids? Great family-friendly options include Pizza Orgasmica, or Tomatina in Northgate.

For the lonely hearts as well as the lovers out there, "Down with Love," at San Rafael Joe's takes a bite out of love in a lighthearted, musical cabaret dinner show which examines the trials and tribulations of finding romance.

Or maybe you just want to cook dinner for your significant other at home and need some delicious ingredients.

Need to know the the most effective love foods? Try these:

1. Hot chillies

2. Avacados and asparagus

3. Bananas

4. Chocolate

5. Oysters

6. Pomegranate

7. Red wine

8. Salmon

9. Vanilla

10. Watermelon
