Raves: Actor Thanks a Wacky Character

When was the last time you gave someone a rave review?

Actor Thanks a Wacky Character

Burl Lampert gave a shout out to Annette Lust, the head of the drama department at Dominican University. For 29 years, Lust staged the Fringe of Marin, a festival of new short plays and solo pieces. "The Fringe concept is very prominent now...but Anette has been at it for three decades, allowing fresh newcomers to work with old actors like me," Lampert wrote. Although Lust is older now, she is "wacky and wonderful."

Joanne Greene  gave a standing ovation to Beyond Differences - a teen-led, Marin-based, nonprofit organization that addresses social isolation. "The group was formed to honor the memory of Lili Rachel Smith who suffered from social isolation and died of natural causes at the age of 15," she wrote. There annual fundraiser will be on Saturday, April 21, at the Mill Valley Community Center.

When was the last time you took a moment to praise someone for a good deed, or yelled out to tell everyone how impressed you are with someone?

Come on and give a shout-out to the person or group in our community you feel deserves the praise. Maybe that’s someone at the grocery store who found your wallet and turned it in. Maybe it’s your own child, who received all A’s on her report card.

Tell us, tell the entire community, who did something special and should receive this praise. You can also post on our Facebook fan page, or tweet to @sanrafaelpatch.

Not feeling all that positive and you’d rather sound off on what’s bothering you? No worries, we have a forum for that as well, and join in that conversation.
