DUI Checkpoint Planned for Friday Night

San Rafael police will hold a DUI checkpoint this Friday eastbound on Third and Union streets.

San Rafael police will hold a DUI checkpoint this Friday eastbound on Third and Union streets.

The checkpoint is the first since the , where an unlicensed driver’s car can be released to someone with a valid driver's license instead of being impounded for 30 days.

Friday's checkpoint will start at 6 p.m. and may relocate later in the evening to northbound Irwin Street at Fifth Avenue.
